Wholesale Pricing Calculator
Buy more, pay less — but how much less? Calculate your tier discount.
How Wholesale Tiered Pricing Works
Wholesale pricing uses volume-based discount tiers — the more you buy, the lower the per-unit cost. Suppliers set these tiers to incentivize larger orders that reduce their per-order handling and shipping costs.
Typical Wholesale Discount Tiers
| Quantity | Typical Discount | On $50 item | Total (100 units) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1-9 (retail) | 0% | $50.00 | $5,000 |
| 10-49 | 10-15% | $42.50-$45 | $4,250-$4,500 |
| 50-99 | 15-25% | $37.50-$42.50 | $3,750-$4,250 |
| 100-499 | 25-40% | $30-$37.50 | $3,000-$3,750 |
| 500+ | 40-60% | $20-$30 | $2,000-$3,000 |
The Breakpoint Decision
Sometimes ordering just above a tier threshold saves money overall, even if you don't need the extra units. If 49 units cost $42.50 each ($2,082.50) but 50 units cost $37.50 each ($1,875), buying 50 saves $207.50 — the extra unit is essentially free.
